In any case, this is the result of a study led by cognitive linguist Bodo Winter, a researcher at the University of Birmingham, and published last fall by the British website My 1st Years.
The researchers presented a panel of volunteers with a hundred of the most popular girl’s names. The volunteers listened attentively to each name before the scientists meticulously analyzed their emotional reactions. Several specific criteria were taken into account: sound, musicality, rhythm, phonetic balance, but above all, the emotional impact on the listeners.
